Ride4Posey
"As everyone knows, Justin Posey was injured in Grand Junction CO during a race. The BMX community has come together, like we do, and has offered support any way possible. With his substantial injuries the medical bills are pilling up. Dans Comp is asking that we all come together and help a fellow racer and great dude. All proceeds from this shirt will go to helping him with whatever he needs. The shirt is printed "Ride4Posey" on the front and "Posey 19" on the back in the same font as his jersey."
The Dan's Comp summary said it best. Justin, a friend of mine, had a terrible crash in Colorado at the USA BMX Supercross race. Posey's long list of injuries included a broken back (in two places, a separated shoulder, broken humorous, two knocked out teeth, concussion, and a broken finger. With such serious injuries, I wanted to help Justin in any way possible. I was very happy to be able to come up with the "Ride4Posey" shirt design, and even more honored to have it sold by Dans Comp online, and at the USA BMX nationals in Florida.
Luckily the shirt saw so much support, Dans Comp sold out of the first (red) run, and ran a second run of shirts with Justin Posey's favorite color, green. Everyone in BMX racing showed a lot of support in person to the Posey family, and online, posting pictures with the design online
Justin Posey has now recovered from surgery, and is starting training, with goals of RIO2016 still on his mind.
